Manila Game Server Coming to VALORANT
Our new game server in Manila, Philippines will be going live with patch 11.04 on 19 August!
The Manila server will be the sixth server available for selection in the Asia Pacific Shard and we aim for it to bring better connectivity and game experience to our players.
But why now?
Over the past 5 years, our Southeast Asian community, particularly in the Philippines, has grown significantly. We’re grateful for this incredible passion and want to ensure that we are properly supporting our player base!
Part of this includes evaluating how accessible our game is for players in different parts of the world.
Currently, most of our Filipino community plays on our Hong Kong server. And while this has supported our growth in the region, there are some infrastructure limitations that have affected game quality.
By launching a new game server in Manila we hope to lower ping, reduce instability and improve overall connectivity for our Filipino community.
But what happens to the Hong Kong server?
We understand players might have some concerns about how the new game server will affect the existing Hong Kong one. But don’t worry!
Our player populations across Asia Pacific are healthy. So this means that even if Filipino players move to the Manila server, matchmaking quality on the Hong Kong is expected to remain resilient.
Remember that the Manila server is an additional game server providing an alternative option for players.
So Filipino players who would prefer to stay on the Hong Kong server can absolutely continue to do so.
And how does this affect Premier?
The new game server will not affect your access and eligibility to Premier. Top performing Premier teams with players on the Manila server will be included in the Asia zone and will fall under the Challengers Southeast Asia league.
Our teams are hard at work getting the game server ready for launch, so we appreciate your patience. Until then, thank you for your continued passion and support for our game!
